We are currently recruiting 1-2 fully funded PhD students.
We are looking for new group members who bring talent, grit, and a passion for infectious disease modeling!
You will have the chance to work on cutting-edge research at the intersection of statistical modeling, artificial intelligence, and infectious disease epidemiology. This position focuses on developing novel statistical, mathematical, computational and machine learning/AI methods—with a particular emphasis on deep learning approaches—to improve our understanding and prediction of infectious disease dynamics. Projects are also strongly grounded in real-world public health applications, including pandemic preparedness, outbreak forecasting, and integrating diverse data sources to inform decision-making.
Interested applicants should email Dr. Max Lau with a brief statement of interest and a CV that includes undergraduate and/or master’s grades. A separate cover letter is not necessary.
We are not actively recruiting postdocs at the moment, but I’m happy to connect.
If you are a Master’s student in our Biostatistics program looking for a thesis project, feel free to contact me via email.
I welcome opportunities to work with undergraduate students who have a strong quantitative background.
